PAL DAY #2

 PAL DAY #2

2 weeks ago in my beautiful school we (we means all the people that were at school that day) had a really really fun sports block (a block is like a 1 or 2 hours of school). There were lots of fun games and they were all sport related. My favourite part was scoring 3 goals in one of the games, I could only play 3 games though. I really can't remember anything in the first game so… the second game i played was quite boring,it went really quickly too, that game was just soccer but with a bouncier and bigger ball. The last game I played was really fun, we had small pool noodles and there was a small ball, we had to try to push the ball into one of the goals without using our hands or feet,

nearly everyone was kicking it though. All of this taught me one thing… if you do something like participating in an activity in Paihia School you will get rewarded

Amazing Earthquakes and volcanoes

 Amazing Earthquakes and volcanoes

Last week my class (Te Maunga) finished a literacy called earthquakes and volcanoes. It was an amazing experience even though I didn’t finish it. We all learnt about all kinds of volcanoes and I learnt that there  is only one kind of volcano New Zealand doesn't have, (not counting the extinct ones in New Zealand) the shield volcano. Even though  I already knew this we went over what to do if there is an earthquake: if you are inside find a table or something sturdy that you can fit under then use one of your hands to hold onto the leg of that thing and use the other hand to cover your head. If you are outside, just do the same thing as quickly as you can.

Shakeout day

 Shakeout day

Today in our lovely class, Te Maunga, we did a very important test and that test was part of some amazing survival tips that will teach us all of the best ways to survive in a natural disaster. This time we learnt about surviving in an earthquake and if you don’t know I can tell you what to do right now. When an earthquake occurs the best thing to do is to take cover under a sturdy table or chair, use one hand to cover your head and the other to hold onto the leg of whatever you're hiding under, if you are outside then just do the same thing.

Amazing Olympic slides

 Olympic slides

Last term in our beautiful class, Te Maunga we (when I write we I mean my class and I) finished a literacy the teachers called, (drum roll please) Olympic Slides! This is a little bit of what happened: we had learnt all about the Olympics, for example we learnt where the Olympics were first made (they were first made in Ancient Greece) and how it might have improved over the years, we also learnt about some old Olympics legends and we compared the Ancient Olympics to the Modern Olympics. My favourite part was writing the last few words and doing the last little edits knowing that my work will all be done. Thank you for your time, see you soon!

The last day of term 3

The last day of term 3

On the last day of term 3 we (everyone in my school that day) had a big sports day, I barely remember anything about it though (I have a terrible memory). We played sports like soccer with a ginormous yoga ball and sports like darts. I learnt that playing soccer with that kind of ball is legal and that running around can be fun at times. One thing I liked doing was taking a break (I am not an energetic person who likes running). I think that was the best part. Overall it was really fun!

Measurement Math DLO

 Measurement Math

Good morning bloggers, my blog for today is about (drum  roll please) my Measurement Math DLO!!! This is everything you need to know. In this DLO I learnt about something I used to not know about at all, areas and perimeters! What is an area and perimeter in math you may be asking well, fear not for I have the answer. An area is pretty much just the inside of a shape. A perimeter is the outside of a shape, so it's like all of the lines that make the shape. My favourite part of this math thing was drawing all over my book. Have a nice day!

Te Reo Maori

 Te Reo Maori

About 6 weeks ago my class and I started a new Te Reo Maori slide presentation so this is what I remember. The first thing we focused on were colours in Maori, we learnt it by singing a song. The start of the song goes like this: ma is white, whero is red, kakariki green. I really liked testing my friend Braden on names of some animals. Overall I really liked it.
